This underwater shot was sent to us by my friend Paul.
You have to wonder on any given day how many times this scenario plays out: a crayfish leaves the protection of his lair and meets his worst nightmare, looking into the eyes of a hungry bass
I was up in Redding last weekend, I did not get a chance to go fishing. I did however take a day to explore the upper end of the Sacramento arm and get some great shots of the low water at Lake Shasta.
The lake is at around 29%, and this makes for a great opportunity to go scout out some of your favorite areas of the lake.
I visited Lake Shasta in Oct 2008 to check out the historic low waters, which were at 29% of full, or about 130 feet below normal. It was a great chance to get a fish-eye view of the lake bed.
Here is a collection of photos from my swimbait fishing outings as well as friends and pics submitted by readers of the Wired Angler. Send me your big fish pics and the story that goes with it to me at wiredangler@gmail.com
